Stephen has led the Police Athletic League through a period of rapid growth in its early years. A native of the Strawberry Hill neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas, Stephen recognized the need to support youth in blighted areas of the urban core and became a founder of the PAL KCK.

Stephen has spent 30 years as an educator, with the last 11 as Chair of the Theology Department at Rockhurst High School. He is also the special teams coordinator for the Rockhurst varsity football team.
