Marketing & Communications Intern
Position Overview
PAL KCK is seeking a proactive and strategic Marketing & Communications Intern to help amplify our impact, grow community engagement, and support our programs for youth. This is more than a support role — this intern will play a key part in shaping outreach, executing signature events, and enhancing our digital presence.
This role offers hands-on experience in partner engagement, content creation, digital marketing strategy, event coordination, and impact storytelling. The intern will work alongside senior staff, gaining direct exposure to nonprofit communications, community engagement, and program promotion.
Key Responsibilities
Community & Partner Engagement
- Reach out to local businesses and community partners to secure auction items, sponsorships, and in-kind contributions for PALFEST and other signature events
- Research and identify new community and corporate partners
- Collaborate with staff to craft messaging and follow-up strategies
- Support recognition of partners and donors at events and through communications
Event Leadership & Execution
- Assist with planning and execution of PALFEST and other events
- Take co-ownership of auction item collection and management
- Coordinate sponsor visibility and deliverables at events
- Support post-event reporting and follow-up communications
Digital Strategy & Content Creation
- Review PAL KCK website and suggest improvements for messaging, usability, and donor engagement
- Create engaging content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Collaborate with PAL KCK youth, including the NPAL Content Squad, to produce reels, videos, and other digital media
- Track analytics and propose improvements to maximize reach and engagement
Impact Reporting & Campaign Support
- Develop and distribute an annual impact survey
- Analyze survey results to inform communications and storytelling
- Assist in creating the Annual Impact Report highlighting measurable outcomes and program successes
- Support integration of impact data into campaigns and outreach materials
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable initiating outreach and building professional relationships
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed
- Passion for nonprofit work, youth mentorship, and community impact
- Experience with social media content creation and analytics is a plus
