Major S. L. Turner has served with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Deptartment for more than 20 years and is currently assigned to the Chief’s Office as the Assistant Chief. As a resident of Wyandotte County, he attended Hazel Grove Elementary then graduated to a Coronado Colt before finally becoming a Schlagle Stallion. He earned a scholarship for Football at Independence Community College and received his degree at the University of Kansas with the Rowing Team. He first became involved with the Police Athletic League in 2023 when he was assigned to the Chief’s Office.
